Instructions for Allergy Testing
For your first appointment as a new patient, as part of our preparations for your visit and possible allergy testing, if you are presently taking any antihistamine medications, we kindly ask that you discontinue them prior to your appointment unless otherwise instructed by a physician or other provider to continue. This includes commonly used antihistamines such as Benadryl, Zyrtec, Claritin, Allegra, and any similar medications.
Stopping antihistamines ahead of your appointment is essential for accurate allergy testing results. These medications can interfere with the tests we perform, potentially affecting the outcome. Therefore, if possible, we recommend discontinuing them at least 5 to 7 days before your appointment.
If you have any concerns or specific instructions from your healthcare provider regarding the continuation of antihistamines, we will be happy to accommodate accordingly.
